Savoye

Savoye is a modern display typeface inspired by the life and work of Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known to the world as Le Corbusier. His architectural philosophy, precise, purposeful, and free of unnecessary ornament, became the foundation for every design decision in this typeface.

The letterforms are drawn with vertical, narrow proportions that reference both the modern aesthetic and the pilotis, one of the five core principles from Le Corbusier's architectural manifesto. The grid system is intentionally simple and direct, reflecting his belief that good design should never work harder than it needs to.

The core shapes of Savoye draw from the floor plan and interior ramps of Villa Savoye, one of Le Corbusier's most celebrated buildings. The typeface takes its name from that same building, a nod to the European historical region it references and the architectural legacy it carries.

Typeface Design / Editorial Design / Bookbinding

Savoye is a typeface that thinks like a building. Structured, minimal, and rooted in history but designed to feel completely contemporary.
