Deadly Twisters
Deadly Twisters is an immersive exhibition concept exploring the raw power and human impact of tornado disasters. More than an informational display, it invites visitors to feel the weight of what a tornado leaves behind.
The visual language is bold and intentional. Large stacked typography for titles mimics the spiraling form of a tornado, while minimal body text keeps the experience digestible and focused. All imagery and video footage is presented in black and white, reinforcing the stark, somber tone of the subject. Gray tones throughout represent air and cloud, grounding the palette in the natural forces at the heart of the story.
The exhibition is organized into four distinct areas, each revealing a different dimension of tornado events. To create genuine emotional connection, the experience is designed around three human senses: touch, sight, and hearing. Visitors can feel a small-scale tornado vortex, watch real tornado footage, handle artifacts recovered from devastating events, and listen to the actual recorded sound of a tornado. Together these moments move visitors from observers to participants in the story of aftermath and survival.
